This winter I wanted to take my son (4 years old) to Paris as his Christmas gift. We tagged along with a friend and her son (6 years old) The kids were so excited to jet across the ocean to France to see the Eiffle tower, and I was excited to eat all the macaroons and baguettes I could find!
We were going to be there for 4 days and we knew wanted to make it an experience they would never forget.
Here is a list of some of the fun things we did with the kiddos and some that we didn’t quite get to but really wish we had!
1. Ride the Carousel at the Eiffle Tower
Don’t miss this world famous landmark! Take the kids on a magical carousel ride in the evening when the tower is sparkling (every hour on the hour for 5 minutes) and the carousel is lit up. Also, grab a hot chocolate and crepe or some cotton candy and go under the tower for free, where you can see all the way up the inside of the tower and the kids can climb on the rocks by the pond.
2. Visit Napoleon Bonapartes Apartment at Musee du Louvre
Have the kids take a look down into the big triangle structure from outside then go check out Napoleon Bonapartes Apartment and collection of weapons and armor in the museum which is free for kids under 18.
3. Drink a hot chocolate at the Musee du Chocolat
Take the kids to watch a chocolatier demonstrate how he makes delectable treats that you’ll get to eat! Sign up to let the kids be chocolatiers themselves in their special workshops. Best of all, eat all the chocolate you want!!
4. Indulge in a sweet treat at a pastry shop
Do your kids (and yourself) a favor and visit some pastry shops! You will find AMAZING pastries that will please any pallet. We found several all over Paris. Don’t forget the macaroons!
5. Visit the gargoyles at Notre-Dame
This, nearly 230ft, tower was the setting for a popular novel and kids movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It is free to enter the church, which we did. It gave me chills listening to organ echo through the cathedral. It was a very surreal and peaceful experience. If you want to take the 400 step climb to the top to see the gargoyles, be sure to book your tickets ahead of time.
Hi Travelers, thank you for coming to my little piece of the internet. Lets see the world!
